The Greek Burger

The burger craze is at a high pitch and I could not be happier- Gourmands and Executive Chefs agree, a burger is the soul of good food- I love to be creative and use ground lamb or turkey. This Greek burger is perfect to make in a slider version for Super Bowl Sunday.

Serves 4

Ingredients
1 ½ ground turkey breast
4 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
½ cup finely chopped red onion
1 tsp. oregano
2 Tsp. lemon zest
Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper
Cooking spray
½ cup grated cucumber (English cucumber is best)
6 ounces fat free Greek yogurt
1-2 TBSP. fresh chopped mint
4 French hamburger rolls or mini rolls

Directions

  1. Stir together first 4 ingredients. Shape into patties. Heat griddle pan and season burgers with salt and pepper. Spray pan with cooking spray. Add patties, cook about 4-5 minutes on each side until done.
  2. Stir together cucumber, yogurt, mint and lemon zest and salt in a small bowl. Top burgers and serve with shredded iceberg lettuce and sliced tomato
