Greek Bifteki

Ingredients

1½ pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon plain yogurt
2 teaspoons dried thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 ounces (¼ pound) feta cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat grill for indirect heat.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the beef, yogurt, thyme, salt and pepper. Form meat into 8 patties, about 2 to 3 inches in diameter
  3. Cut the cheese into 4 slices. Place each slice between two patties and seal the edges with your fingers. Repeat with the remaining beef patties and cheese and set aside.
  4. Brush the hot grill with olive oil and set bifteki on to cook. Cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until the beef is fully cooked and the cheese is melted.
